Wonderful Location:
An exceptional location for this beautifully restored, detached stone cottage with outstanding views over Llyn Crafnant in this most scenic part of Eryri National Park – Snowdonia
The cottage, one of a pair, whose land extends to the lakeside. It is approached along a narrow lane from the village of Trefriw. It is not serviced by public transport. It sits as a pair of cottages in its own 6 acre grounds that are accessed by a private drive. The grounds are enclosed and landscaped with garden furniture. There is excellent walking/rambling from the door. The owners live next door.
Betws Y Coed is 6 miles away and the most wonderful dog friendly beach at Conwy Morfa is a 25 minute drive.
The landscaped gardens are not really suitable for toddlers, sorry.
Accommodation & facilities:
Furnished with much traditional character and equipped with washing machine, freezer, fridge, electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave, Freeview TV & Amazon Firestick, DVD, video (large selection of tapes/DVDs), radio/CD player, payphone (there is poor/no mobile reception here), selection of books and quality board games, storage and convector heaters. Unlimited WiFi is also available but is slow and can be unreliable due to remote location.
BBQ and outdoor fire basket available on request.
ELECTRICITY: This IS CHARGED EXTRA by meter reading but absolutely strictly as per usage at online cost price and on average varies from about £5 – £12 per day depending on winter, summer and of course how much you use!!!! You are asked to leave cash at the end of your stay. The extra electricity charge you will find is reflected in the reduced basic rental tariff. It’s the fairest approach and you, the guest, always ‘wins’ as you only pay for what you use!…oh and it’s greener for the planet too! 🙂
There are fabulous walks and mountain bike trails from the door. A circular walk makes its way around the lake and there is a lakeside cafe open during the summer. Ticketed trout fishing is sometimes available at the lake. Please note, there is NO private boating or swimming in the lake.
A small shop, pub, and cafe in Trefriw (4 miles) along with a working woolen mill and craft shop. Further shops and all the facilities of a small town can be found at the market town of Llanrwst or the ever-popular Betws-y-Coed. Both Conwy Castle and the National Trust’s Bodnant Gardens are approximately 13 miles away, Snowdon 20 miles, and for the adventure seeker Zip World Forest is 20 mins drive away with the 100mph ZipWorld Velocity 2 only a 35 min. drive away.
